The 30-second answer

Forever is an ongoing experience built around the original Azeroth and the level 1–60 journey. Blizzard positions it alongside modern WoW and Classic, with continuing new content. “Classic+” is useful community shorthand, but the official name is World of Warcraft: Forever. Official panel recap

Question Forever, as announced Classic / modern WoW context
What is the foundation? Original Azeroth, with new and reworked content Classic revisits historical eras; modern WoW has its own continuing expansion path
What journey is being developed? Levels 1–60 Depends on the specific Classic or modern product
Are new places being added? New zones, nine new dungeons and two announced new raids Content from another version is not automatically a Forever guide
Flying and level scaling? Neither is part of the announced design Do not import assumptions from modern WoW
Visual options? Modern / classic presets, HD / SD models, optional transmog These options do not make Forever the same product as modern WoW

Keep your world knowledge. Recheck your rules.

An old place name can be familiar without its dungeon encounters, travel route, or quests being identical. In particular, Forever’s Hyjal Summit and City of Dalaran need their own verified information. We do not reuse a Burning Crusade raid strategy simply because its title matches.

The same applies to classes. Blizzard has announced new abilities and talent changes; your old build can be a useful starting question, but it is not validated advice for Forever.

What this means for a returning player

Editorial interpretation: if your favorite memories are about leveling, meeting people and exploring the old continents, Forever’s announced emphasis is relevant to you. Whether the final balance and pacing meet that promise requires actual play.

Character transfers, collection sharing and exact progression rules should be checked in the applicable official announcement. This page does not promise cross-product transfers or shared progress.
